Trough the clear skies of literature

Thanks to the conditions of our climate and geography, Chile is a privileged place from which to observe the sky of the southern hemisphere. The Atacama desert, with its dryness and low light pollution, offers many days a year with optimal visibility, making Chile’s skies some of the most pristine in the world, and a mandatory stop for scientists and aficionados of astronomical observation.

Astronomy is the oldest of all branches of knowledge, the sky a kind of blank canvas where each element holds a narrative and delivers a message, whether it be to orient us in terms of the climate or to explain the universe itself. Like literature, the sky tells stories, brings us closer to our past as well as to our future.

Chilean literature has become a vibrant Latin American voice, one that is laden with memory while also providing new expressions as well as new visual treatments, with creative and innovative publishers. The Chilean publishing industry is broadly representative of Chilean society, offering an excellent display of the set of ideas that drive the country socially, politically, and culturally.

It is an industry that resonates not only within Latin America, but also with more global creative endeavors. It presents an editorial production whose voices evoke a society that has continued to redefine itself over time. We want to make the most of the Frankfurt Book Fair as a global meeting place to showcase Chile’s full cultural panorama.
