For three days, professionals from Chile, Latin America, Europe, and Asia will gather to discuss internationalization, rights, digital formats, and the future of Chilean books.
From May 28 to 30, 2025, the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center will host a new edition of Contec Chile, a professional forum for the publishing industry organized by the Frankfurt Book Fair (FBM) in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage (MINCAP). The event will take place within the framework of the Book Fury and will be free of charge with prior registration.
This edition of Contec marks a milestone on Chile’s path to participation as Guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2027, one of the most important cultural venues in the world. The meeting will bring together a delegation of international editors, agents, and specialists who will come to learn about Chilean publishing and establish connections with local stakeholders.
The program will include lectures, panel discussions, and specialized workshops, focusing on the following topics:
Opportunities for Chilean books in international markets
Translation and rights trading
Data- and metadata-based commercial strategies
New formats: audiobooks, digitalization, and artificial intelligence
Access to Contec Chile 2025 is free, but with limited capacity
