Santa Cruz de la Sierra International Book Fair 2025

From 4 to 15 June 2025, Chile took part as guest of honour in the Santa Cruz de la Sierra International Book Fair (FILSC), held at the Fexpocruz convention centre in Bolivia.
The fair brought together authors, illustrators, book professionals and the general public to celebrate literature and cultural exchange. The Chilean delegation, selected by the National Council for Books and Reading, included prominent figures such as Rosabetty Muñoz, Roxana Miranda Rupailaf, Pía Barros, Simón López Trujillo, Manuel Peña Muñoz and Camila Valenzuela. Gabriela Mistral specialists Pedro Pablo Zegers and Guillermo Soto also took part, and singer Francesca Ancarola gave a musical performance at the opening ceremony.
Chile's participation commemorated the 80th anniversary of Gabriela Mistral's Nobel Prize in Literature, and the book “Dos Voces Poéticas de Chile y Bolivia. Gabriela Mistral y Adela Zamudio” was presented – a joint project of the two countries' language academies that strengthened the literary ties between Chile and Bolivia. During the fair, panel discussions, book presentations, workshops and various cultural activities showcased the richness of Chilean literature and its commitment to promoting reading and cultural exchange in Latin America.
This participation also reaffirmed Chile's commitment to international cultural cooperation and regional integration. The fair drew thousands of visitors, offering a space for dialogue and reflection on literary, cultural and social issues and contributing to the cultural enrichment of the community of Santa Cruz de la Sierra and the region.
