Chile takes part in the Seoul International Book Fair 2025

From 18 to 22 June, Chile took part in the latest edition of the Seoul International Book Fair. Chile was present with a stand opened by Chile's Ambassador to Korea, Mathias Francke, and the president of the Seoul International Book Fair, Joo Iroo. This is the third consecutive year that Chile has taken part in this important fair.
This year 12 Chilean publishers were represented, some of them independent, with the aim of selling book rights to the Korean market – a fundamental step in expanding the reach of Chilean literature in Asia, all the more so given that this edition of the Seoul International Book Fair welcomed more than 250,000 visitors.
Our stand also featured the “Gabriela Mistral corner”, a space prepared by the embassy to display the poet's works in Korean and Spanish, where visitors were given commemorative postcards with the poem “Dame la mano” (in Korean). This initiative is part of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of Gabriela Mistral's Nobel Prize in Literature.
